Research Scientist — Biomedical Knowledge

London🔬 Research Scientist🕐 Full-time🏢 Hybrid

The Role

Clarisyn helps researchers turn complex scientific questions into structured, evidence-based answers. Behind that sits a growing map of biomedical knowledge, how targets, diseases, mechanisms and evidence connect.

This role is about shaping that map: deciding how concepts relate, curating the evidence behind them, and making sure the science holds up. Working closely with the founders, you'll bring the scientific judgment that keeps Clarisyn accurate and trustworthy.

What you'll do

  • Identify which sources and studies are reliable enough to build on
  • Structure how biomedical concepts (targets, diseases, mechanisms, biomarkers) connect
  • Curate and validate the scientific evidence behind those connections
  • Review AI-generated links for scientific accuracy, keeping a human in the loop
  • Help improve how Clarisyn reasons about science as it grows

What we're looking for

  • A life sciences background, from an MSc, PhD or postdoc to hands-on research experience, in biology, pharmacology, chemistry, medicine or similar, ideally with training from a strong research environment
  • Experience reading and critically appraising scientific papers, you can tell a strong study from a weak one
  • Comfort working with scientific databases and literature (PubMed, ChEMBL, ClinicalTrials.gov or similar)
  • An eye for detail: spotting when a claim isn't well supported, or when two sources disagree
  • Bonus: experience with systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or evidence synthesis
